TransferRoom helps us especially in our strategy in terms of the loan players… we can very quickly give the information to all the clubs of which players from us could or should make the next step. And of course we are then looking at players that could fit in our squad.
Austria Vienna is using TransferRoom and the loan system to achieve its goal of giving young players first team minutes.
German defender Eric Martel, 18, made a loan move to Austria Vienna from RB Leipzig in the winter 2021 window, with the deal having come about after a meeting between the two clubs at a TransferRoom Summit.
Austria Vienna Head of Licensing Ralf Muhr said: “TransferRoom is about communication. We were looking in our club for this position and Red Bull Leipzig had a player, Erik, that would fit perfectly... I think this is a very good project and for the future a very good thing for both sides.
“TransferRoom has helped us especially in our strategy in terms of the loan players... we can very quickly give the information to all the clubs of which players from us could or should make the next step. And of course we are then looking at players that could fit in our squad.”
It is the contacts made through TransferRoom that has enabled Austria Vienna to widen its recruitment net.
Muhr said: “We are not only focusing on the clubs around Austria, we are also in contact with a lot of clubs in MLS and in Brazil. With TransferRoom, we are thinking world wide.”
“We are a good place for young players to make the next step in their development. TransferRoom is a perfect platform of communication for us, not only in terms of transfers but also in terms of monitoring development of individual players.”
