CAI Salaries - Logo - Dark

The biggest cost in football is the one you can't see coming.

Salaries reads every contract and works out the wages and bonuses that move with results, from live match data. You see what you'll pay next month before it's due, not after it's gone out.

Calculated from live match data
See next month's bill before it's due
Catches the clauses match data can't
Clean export file, ready to use
Powered by TransferRoom, the Marketplace used by 800+ clubs worldwide
The Problem

Every result can change what you owe. And someone has to catch it, by hand.

A base wage you set once. But the bonuses move, appearances, goals, thresholds, and every one has to be checked against the results, week after week. Recording the clauses is the easy part. Watching them is the job.

"Prevents scenarios where we miss out on earning money or fail to pay money.

Santiago Liste Cortizo — Head of Legal and Governance
Deportivo de La Coruña
The more clauses you carry, the easier it is to miss one.

A bonus, missed

A clause is triggered and goes unnoticed, until the player’s agent flags it.

A payment, miscalculated

A figure goes out wrong, and the correction lands next quarter.

A clause, no warning

An appearance threshold is hit mid-season with nothing budgeted for it.

The board, asking

“What does the wage bill look like next month?” and no one has the number.

This is the job Salaries takes off your desk, and turns into a number you can see coming.

Always a step behind

  • You see the number after it’s already been paid
  • Reports tally what’s happened, not what’s coming
  • Next month is a best guess
  • By the time you can act, the money’s committed

Always a step ahead

  • Match data does the maths automatically, as results come in
  • A clear month-by-month forecast of the wage bill
  • A clause that lifts a player's wage is picked up straight away
  • A person checks anything unusual, so the odd ones don’t slip through
How it Works

Three steps.

Upload contracts
1

Upload contracts

Drag them in and the AI reads every key clause, salary, bonus and sell-on, quickly and accurately. No more typing every clause in by hand.

It runs itself
2

It runs itself

Salaries works out the match-driven wages and bonuses automatically, forecasts the bill ahead, and flags the few things that need a person to check.

Salaries
Key clauses tracked. Every bonus calculated. Every month.

Everything Salaries handles for you.

Every wage and bonus, calculated from the match data

Worked out automatically, as the results come in.

Next month’s wage bill, before it lands

The forecast’s ready before the board asks.

The piece most clubs miss

Salary Reviews

A pay rise that triggers on a clause and keeps applying, caught the moment it happens.

The bonuses that aren’t on the pitch

Image rights, awards and discretionary pay, flagged for a human check.

Agent fees, in one place

Every commission tracked and surfaced when it’s due.

Nothing goes out until you approve it

Then a clean export into your own payroll, no re-keying.

Who it's for

Built for finance.
Valuable to everyone it touches.

Walk in with the number already in hand.

A forward view of the wage bill, and of your squad-cost position. Every wage and bonus visible and forecast months ahead, so you show the board what's coming, not just what already happened.

On your radar
Next month's wage bill, projected
3 clauses close to paying out
Pay rises caught before they land
Board report, ready
Your weekends back.

No weekend spreadsheet checks, no cross-checking against the match reports. Salaries does the sums, you review and sign off, and the numbers are ready for every pay run.

On your radar
Weekend match scan, complete (auto)
Bonuses calculated, 0 manual entries
Payroll export, ready for sign-off
Manual conditions flagged for review
Payroll-ready after every matchday.

Built with payroll in mind, not just finance. Fixed and variable pay worked out and exported for every run, so pay goes out right and on time, with no wrong figures to chase.

On your radar
Matchday bonuses, auto-calculated
Appearance payments triggered this month
Loyalty fees due, flagged 30 days out
Player disputes this season: 0
Know the cost before you commit.

Go into a deal knowing the cost. See your full position, and how a signing or a bonus changes the wage bill, before you negotiate rather than after the window shuts.

On your radar
Wage-bill impact of a pending deal
Promotion clauses, modelled ahead
How a deal moves the wage bill
No surprises after the window
However complex your wage bill, this is built for it.

High clause volume

Hundreds of clauses, with the academy adding its own hidden layer. A full-time manual job, done in the background.

A one or two-person team

At a smaller club it all sits with one or two people. You can’t miss a clause, and you can’t spare the hours. Salaries keeps up.

The wage bill runs every month

Busy window or not, every matchday can fire a bonus, and payroll still goes out. The manual work never stops. Neither does Salaries.

Clubs already run their money on it.

A surprise clause can tip you into breach.

In June 2026, UEFA fined four clubs for breaching the 70% squad cost ratio.
UEFA
Squad Cost Ratio, 70% of revenue, across European competitions.
Premier League
New SCR from 2026/27: 85% domestic, 70% in Europe, with SSR alongside.
LaLiga
A squad-cost limit that explicitly counts variable pay and bonuses.
MLS
A salary budget, Designated Players and hard roster dates.
Selling clubs
FIFA solidarity and sell-ons: money you're owed on every transfer.

Variable pay is the hardest part of the wage bill to predict, and in more and more leagues it counts towards a hard spending limit, run close to that line and one unbudgeted trigger can tip you over. In big-spending leagues the pressure is on what you owe; for clubs that sell and develop, it's on what you're owed. Salaries doesn't run your compliance. What it does is keep the biggest, most volatile input, your wages and variable pay, accurate and forecast forward, so the part you can least afford to guess at isn't the one that catches you out.

Salaries is one part of the bigger picture.

Every payment your club makes, and every one it's due, tracked in one place. That's Contingency AI, and we already monitor more than 16,000 clauses worth over £1bn for the clubs using it. It runs on our network, the same one 800+ clubs use for their transfers, and no other solution comes close.

FAQ

Questions we get asked a lot.

No. Salaries and Contingency AI are standalone. The TransferRoom connection means you draw on the largest live transfer-data network in football, but it isn't a subscription requirement.

No, and it doesn't need to. Salaries does the football calculation your payroll system can't: reading contracts, calculating every bonus and trigger from match data. Then it hands you a clean export to load into your own payroll or finance system.

Contract extraction runs at around 90% accuracy, then every contract goes through a legal-operations review. From there, match data does the calculation and a human review step confirms anything ambiguous. You never rely on the AI alone for a financial obligation.

Things like image rights, one-off awards and discretionary bonuses are handled separately with our manual tracking feature. Salaries shows each one for a person to confirm or dismiss, with the sums already done against the contract, so no bonuses get missed.

Most clubs are onboarded within 30 days: contract extraction, legal review, and connection to your live performance data. No IT project, no months of implementation.
