Alejando Irarragorri is considered one of Mexico’s brightest businessmen and entrepreneurs.

In 2013 he founded Grupo Orlegi, which contains a business unit focused on agriculture, insurance and real estate development, and the Orlegi Sports division, consisting of LigaMX club Santos Laguna.

In 2016, Irarragorri added second-tier Tampico Madero FC to the Orlegi Sports portfolio and three years later acquired Guadalajara-based Atlas FC from Grupo Salinas, the conglomerate that owns TV Azteca.

In recent years, Orlegi Sports has been closely linked with takeovers of England’s Newcastle United and Spain’s Leganes, as Irarragorri looks to build an international multi-club ownership business.
