Damien Comolli: Thinking outside the box
Damien Comolli has spent 20 years in roles across the football recruitment landscape, as Coach, Scout, Sporting Director, Director of Football, Consultant and now President.
He began his coaching career at AS Monaco working under Arsene Wenger, before following his compatriot to Arsenal as European Scout. His first Sporting Director job came at St Etienne in 2004, aged just 32, after which he went onto hold Director of Football roles with Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, where he introduced a data-focused approach to player recruitment that has now become the norm.
After leaving Liverpool in 2012, Damien spent a number of years consulting clubs on player and coaching staff recruitment, before returning to club football in 2018 as Sporting Director of Fenerbahce.
He has been President of Toulouse FC since July 2020, having advised US investment group RedBird Capital on the takeover of the club.

Damien shares his insights on:
- From ridicule to respect: being an early adopter of data
- Luka Modric and the dysfunctional traditional scouting model
- Devil in the detail: how deals are done
